How the quiz works
Each answer nudges one part of your crest. Your values choose the field color, using the traditional meanings from heraldry (red for courage, blue for truth and loyalty, green for hope, purple for justice, black for constancy, mulberry for patience). How you face a challenge sets the division, gold or silver sets the metal, and your other answers choose your heraldic beast (lion, wolf, eagle, dragon, stag, bear or owl) and the theme of your Latin motto. Your name goes across the top.
The meanings come from heraldic writers of the 1500s and 1600s rather than the medieval knights themselves, so treat your result as a bit of fun with real roots. More in the heraldry meanings guide.
The seven beasts
- The Lionheart (lion): Brave, warm and impossible to ignore. You lead from the front and protect your people.
- The Wolf (wolf): Loyal to your pack above everything. You are at your best with your people around you, and fierce when they need you.
- The Visionary (eagle): You see the whole picture from above and aim higher than anyone else dares.
- The Dragonheart (dragon): Fierce, rare and independent. You guard the people and things you love like treasure.
- The Peacemaker (stag): Calm, graceful and kind. You only fight when you have to, and then you do not lose.
- The Guardian (bear): Strong, steady and protective. Nobody messes with your family.
- The Sage (owl): Wise and watchful. You are the one everyone asks for advice.
Questions
Is this based on real heraldry?
Yes, loosely. The colors, divisions and emblems are real heraldic elements, and the quiz uses the traditional meanings later heraldic writers gave them (courage for red, loyalty for blue, hope for green and so on). It is a bit of fun, not a historical grant of arms.
Can I change my result?
Yes. Click "Make it yours" to open your crest in Crest Studio and change any color, emblem or the motto. Designing is free.
Can I get my crest as a picture or print?

How do I share my result?
