Archery Game: The King's Archery Contest
Nine arrows, three distances, one champion. Mind the wind.
How to play
- Press and hold anywhere on the field to draw your bow. The ring around your sight fills as you draw.
- While you hold, drag to move your aim. The sight steadies at full draw, but hold too long and your arm starts to shake.
- Let go to loose the arrow. The wind, shown top right, pushes it sideways, more at longer range, so aim into the wind.
- Three ends of three arrows, at 20, 40 and 60 metres. Gold scores 9 and 10, and the small X in the middle is a perfect ten.

ComputerHold Space to draw, aim with the arrow keys or WASD, release Space to shoot. Or hold, drag and release with the mouse.
Tips
- Draw fully before you loose: a half-drawn bow drops the arrow low.
- Shoot in the first second or two at full draw, while your sight is steadiest.
- Watch the pennants and the wind arrow. At 60 metres a strong wind moves an arrow by most of the target.
- The daily contest gives everyone the same winds today, so you can compare scores fairly with friends.

Is the archery game free?
Yes. It runs in your browser on phones, tablets and computers, with no download and no account.
How is the target scored?
Like a real archery target: gold scores 10 and 9, red 8 and 7, blue 6 and 5, black 4 and 3, and white 2 and 1. The small X ring in the centre counts as 10 and breaks ties. The best possible score is 90.
What is the daily contest?
A contest with the same winds for everyone that day, so you can share your score and compare it fairly. It changes at midnight UTC.
